More than 100 of the city’s hospitality stakeholders met Sept. 26 with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF) and officials of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO) to discuss preparations for the MassKara Festival next month.

BYF executives briefed attendees about the different activities slated for the 45th staging of the world-renowned celebration from Oct. 11-27.

They also reminded establishments of the importance of good service, cleanliness of the facilities, and the readiness of the hospitality sector to accommodate local and foreign visitors.

“A lot of players are coming in. We have prepared more events and activities this year, so I am expecting that they will take care of their own businesses. Decorate more, invest, and elevate the game,” MassKara Festival chairman Jojie Dingcong said in a press release.

He urged all to put their best foot forward and give visitors something to look forward to next year.

More than 215,000 guests arrived in Bacolod in a span of three days for the MassKara Festival highlights last year, as per the Department of Tourism, the BYF said.

Dingcong said they are expecting more visitors this year.

Also at the meeting were BYF executives Katherine Matiling, Kuster Cadagat, and Jericho Redil, and Bacolod City tourism officer Teresa Manalili, among others. ||
