A P50,000 reward is being offered by Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for any information leading to the arrest of two suspects linked to the murder of senior high school student Nicus Balagosa.

Balagosa, then 20, was gunned down in front of his parents inside their home in Barangay Granada on June 2.

The reward forms part of the city government’s ongoing efforts to ensure swift justice for the heinous crime that shocked the community, a statement of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said.

A warrant of arrest has already been issued by the court against the suspects Carlito Tongo, alias Dondon, and Jonathan Tongo, alias Athan.

In a statement, PCol. Joeresty Coronica, police city director, said that they have been intensifying efforts to locate and arrest the two suspects, and bring them to justice.

The shooting incident was reportedly connected to the molestation of a 16-year-old girl in the barangay on May 31.

Coronica assured those who may have information that they will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

In an earlier statement, Benitez said that the full force of the law will be used against the suspects until justice is served to the family of the victim. | GB
