An unidentified assailant shot to death a lending firm collector at Hacienda Paje in Barangay Consing, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on Monday.
The victim was identified by the police as Jan Edrian de Leon, 26, of Grandville Subdivision in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Initial police investigation indicated that the victim succumbed to a gunshot wound at the back of his head.
PCapt. Markelly Laganepa, deputy police chief of E.B. Magalona, said that De Leon was on his way home, driving a XRM 125 motorcycle, when he was shot.
De Leon was declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
Laganepa said that they have already identified a person of interest in the shooting, which may have been motivated by robbery.
He added that charges may soon be filed against the suspect. | GB
