The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has issued a notice of award to AIMM Builder and Construction Supply for the expansion and improvement of the passenger terminal building (PTB) at Bacolod-Silay Airport, with approved contract budget of P418,276,136.52.
The company, based in Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte, was awarded the project, through single calculated and responsive bid, with contract price of P408,276,208.88, the CAAP said in a notice posted Aug. 7.
Project duration is 900 calendar days.
Bacolod Rep. Alfredo Benitez, in his State of the District Address last month, said the project will increase the airport’s pre-departure seating capacity, from 500 to 1,480 passengers.
This will allow the PTB to accommodate the growing number of travelers, significantly improving passenger capacity and overall travel experience, he added. “Every transportation route that is improved means more efficient movement of people and goods, creating greater economic opportunities for Bacolodnons and opening more doors for tourism and trade.” | CGC
