An amount of P122 million has been allotted for various city government expenses, including Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the City Mayor’s Office at P75 million, and P27 million for the flagship Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP).
The appropriation ordinance was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod Aug. 7 on first, second, and third reading under suspended rules, following a letter-request certified urgent by Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, dated Aug. 6.
Sources of funds include P50 million from the 2022 accumulated surplus, another P50 million from the underestimated income of business tax and other regulatory fees, P12 million from the Special Trust Fund, and P10 million in salary savings from unfilled vacant positions in the first half of this year, and certified available for reversion by City Budget Officer Maria Imelda Williams.
Of the P75 million allotted as MOOE of the City Mayor’s Office, P54 million will be for electricity expenses, P20 million for fuel, oil, and lubricants, and P20 million as Other MOOE.
The SP was allocated P7 million for traveling expenses and other general services; City Health Office MOOE, P3 million; City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, P2.5 million; Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office, P2.3 million; and City Cooperative and Livelihood Development, P2 million. | CGC
