The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 directed all provincial and city directors in Western Visayas to heighten visibility and strictly observe operational procedures in all actions, especially in dealing with rallyists, in line with the State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. today.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director, said that there will be maximum deployment of police personnel across the region, which includes police visibility through mobile and foot patrols, checkpoints in identified strategic areas and other anti-criminality interventions.

Wanky also placed on standby the civil disturbance management platoons.

He reminded the six police provincial directors and two city directors in Western Visayas to ensure that their personnel are visible and felt by the people so that the general public will feel safe and secure.

Wanky urged the rallyists to police their own ranks, ensuring that public demonstrations do not cause inconvenience or disturbance to the commuters and the general public.

“Additionally, we are closely coordinating and collaborating with other government agencies with mandates on safety and security, and the local government units,” he added. | GB
