A farmer died after he was hit by lightning at Purok Enyam in Barangay Cambarus, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental on June 24.
Initial police investigation showed that the 21-year-old victim got killed while seeking refuge under a banana plant in an open field.
The victim, whose identity was withheld by the police, was declared dead on arrival at the Pontevedra Rural Health Unit.
On the same day, a 39-year-old resident of Hacienda Bernardita in Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City drowned, police report said.
He was reported to have been carried away by strong current and his body was recovered an hour after he was reported missing.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Cadiz Emergency Clinic. | GB
