134 nabbed over illegal gambling

A total of 134 persons engaged in illegal gambling have been arrested in Negros Occidental from May 1 to 15, according to reports of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.

In Western Visayas, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) delivered the most number of arrests with 134.

It is followed by Bacolod City Police Office (CPO) – 35; Antique PPO – 27; Iloilo PPO – 20; Capiz PPO – 18; Iloilo CPO – 17; and Aklan PPO – 10.

All over the region, the PRO-6 reported to have arrested 261 suspects in a string of anti-illegal gambling operations and recovered P95,414.50 in cash bets.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director, took cognizance of the anti-illegal gambling efforts of the police chiefs and lauded them for a job well done. | GB
