An alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered recently to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The NPA rebel, whose identity is being withheld by the police for security reasons, turned over a caliber .38 revolver and a rifle grenade to the authorities.

He is expected to receive cash, which is equivalent to the firearm and explosive he surrendered, aside from the financial and livelihood assistance he will get under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.

His surrender was a result of the combined efforts of police intelligence operatives of the Talisay City and Murcia Municipal Police Stations, 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6, and 1st Negros Occidental Police Provincial Mobile Force Company. | GB
