Two persons were injured in separate stabbing and hacking incidents in the cities of Kabankalan and Sagay, Negros Occidental on March 30.
A 66-year-old suspect is now under the custody of the police after he figured in the stabbing incident at Purok Kalubihan in Barangay Makiling, Sagay City.
Identified only as alias “Fredo”, he and his friends were having a drinking session when the victim arrived and tried to strangle him.
The suspect stabbed the victim several times and the latter was brought to the Alfredo Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital.
Alias “Fredo”, a widower, was endorsed by the responding village watchmen to the Sagay City Police Station.
In Kabankalan City, a heated argument between a couple led to a hacking incident at their place in Sitio Guibuangan, Barangay Tampalon.
The victim was a 36-year-old farmer, whose identity is being withheld by the police.
His live-in partner hacked him while he was drunk, he said.
The man was treated at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital while the suspect fled. | GB
