Six families whose houses were razed in a recent fire in Brgy. San Antonio, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental each received relief goods and P10,000 in cash assistance.
In a swift response to the fire incident Feb. 1, aid was mobilized by Mayor Raymund Tongson, through his executive assistants, with Department of Social Welfare and Development and the City Social Welfare and Development personnel.
“We delivered aid to the affected families, including the P10,000 in cash assistance for each household that we immediately dispensed to help them get back on their feet,” Tongson said in a press release.
The Bureau of Fire Protection in Himamaylan said the blaze started at around 12:20 p.m., and put out about one hour later.
Tongson expressed his relief that lives were spared during the fire. Damage was placed at P181,500, with six houses destroyed.
“The Office of the City Mayor and CSWDO will continue to extend assistance and psychosocial support to our affected Himamaylanons,” he added. ||
