The Moises Padilla Police Station offers a P50,000 reward for the recapture of jail escapee Reco Layan, who bolted from police custodial facility on Oct. 14.
Layan, a resident of Brgy. Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla was arrested July this year and faces murder charges, the police said.
Initial investigations showed that while inside the jail, Layan complained of being ill which prompted the police jailer to allow him to go out from the custodial facility.
Although he was still within the vicinity of the police station, Layan found the opportunity to escape. He fled on board a motorcycle.
The police jailer, whose identity is being withheld, was relieved from the Moises Padilla Police Station and transferred to Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
P/Lt. Wilma Silva, deputy Public Information Officer of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said that three other Moises Padilla police personnel are also being investigated for the escape of Layan.
