Sipalay City destroys 236 motorcycle exhaust pipes

The local government unit of Sipalay in Negros Occidental, together with the city police, destroyed 236 exhaust pipes of motorcycles, in a ceremony in front of the new Sipalay PNP building at Brgy. Gil Montilla Jan. 15.

The exhaust pipes were confiscated within city premises, as per Ordinance 2020-007, which “regulates all type of motor vehicles with modified aftermarket pipes/mufflers or swapping out of the stock pipes/mufflers making excessive and unreasonable loud noise, and providing penalties”, the city said in a press release.

Mayor Maria Gina Lizares, City Administrator Philip Zamora, Sipalay police head, P/Maj. Fernando Somblingo Jr., executive assistant to the mayor Dionilo Bogtae, pastor Aldrin Arroz, LGU employees, Sipalay PNP and traffic personnel, among others, witnessed the flattening and destruction of these pipes. ||
