Danna Marie Cuaycong Barzo, the chairperson of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. Mandalagan, will replace Ayesha Joy Villaflor as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod.
Barzo won unopposed as Bacolod SK Federation president during the election of the new set of officers at L’Fisher Hotel Nov. 14.
“Cheers to Danna Barzo, the newly-elected SK Federation president of Bacolod City,” Mayor Alfredo Benitez, who inducted the SK Federation officials said in a post. “Your dedication and passion for our city have truly set you apart, good luck sa imo nga term!”
Aside from Barzo, the other officers are Catherine Trespuentes of Brgy. Felisa, vice president; Darlwin Sales of Brgy. 6, secretary; Alyana Ilon of Cabug, treasurer; Jake Demegillo of Brgy. 14, auditor; Bea Pabular of Taculing, public information officer; and Aldrich Borda of Sum-ag, sergeant-at-arms.
Benitez, in a press conference Tuesday morning, said that in his talk with about 59 SK chairpersons Monday night, he urged them to “vote according to their preference, and not to be influenced by external forces…to vote on who they like, and not on who they were told to vote.”
“I told them it’s about time that we change our system of governance, the system of politics into something that is based on their idealism. We would like to start the right way,” the mayor added. | CGC
