The security guard earlier reported missing was found dead in the territorial waters of Sitio Sibucao in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City.
The body of Glenn Cahaponon, 36, of Purok Lison, Brgy. 1, Bacolod City, was recovered at 1:35 p.m. today, June 12, or about five hours after his disappearance was reported.
The retrieval operation, with the help of personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard, was made at about two nautical miles from the Sibucao coastal area.
PCG investigations showed that Cahaponon, accompanied by Ernesto Roque and Brian Jason Sabio, went for a swim on board a motorboat in the waters of Sitio Sibucao.
While swimming, Cahaponon was swept away by a strong current. Roque tried to rescue him but to no avail, the Coast Guard said./GB
