Cadiz mayor to receive award

Cadiz City Mayor Salvador “Bading” Escalante Jr. is one of the awardees of this year’s Certified Most Sustainable and Liveable in the Philippines, and Honorary Local Chief Executive of the Year, at the 2022 Nation Builders and Mosliv Gala Awards, to be held on March 19 in Parañaque City.

The other awardees are mayors Pryde Henry Teves of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, Joseph Tan of Santiago City, Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” Sotto of Pasig, Richard Gomez of Ormoc City, Leyte, Arturo Robes of San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan, Marjorie Perales of Toledo City in Cebu, Jose Relampagos of Panabo City in Davao Del Norte, Nielo Tupas of Barotac Viejo in Iloilo, Ma. Rocelle Carolino of Santa Maria in Laguna, Carlos Lopez Jr. of Asingan in Pangasinan, Emerson Lachica of Kalibo in Aklan, and Jose Paolo Teves of Baras in Catanduanes.

The Nation Builders and Mosliv Awards is a nonprofit organization that highlights achievements of LGUs on good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, decent work and economic growth, gender equality, reduced inequalities, peace, justice and strong institutions, most equitable use of land and resources, disaster preparedness, risk reduction and resiliency management, infrastructure and service connectivity to the public, mobility for affordable, accessible and safe transport system for all, public protection and safety, aesthetics and service innovation, green innovation and infrastructure, responsible consumption and production, partnership for goals, climate action, affordable and clean energy.

Meanwhile, Escalante led the inauguration and turnover of the Barangay Cabahug Multi-Purpose Hall and Covered Court Feb. 8.

He also gave an inspirational message after the turnover of the ceremonial key to Barangay Cabahug Captain Santiago Halipa. — PR
