The resumption of leisure travel to Negros Occidental was among the issues discussed by Department of Tourism Region 6 director Cristine Mansinares when she visited Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Capitol Nov. 19.

They also discussed the initiatives and programs of the tourism department.

Mansinares, who used to be the tourism officer of Negros Occidental, also asked the provincial government to help facilitate the vaccination of tourism workers, who have yet to get inoculated against the coronavirus.

She said that a tourism-related establishment should have fully vaccinated workers before it is allowed to resume operations.

Mansinares also discussed the S-PaSS processing system of the province as a coordination platform for travelers.

She talked about the possible resumption of the Bacolod-Clark flights, to boost the number of travelers to Negros Occidental. — MML
