Good news to residents in the coverage areas of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has cancelled the scheduled 12-hour power interruption along the Bacolod-Cadiz 138kV line on Nov. 21.
This is due to the non-arrival of the ordered Transmission Line (TL) Surge Arresters from the supplier and because most of the TL personnel resources are focused on the continuous hotline replacement of the 138KV partially damaged line insulators affected by recent lightning strikes, Zosimo Briones, NGCP district senior manager, told Atty. Danny Pondevilla, general manager of NONECO, in a letter dated Nov. 17.
“However, we will push with the Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) and replacement that will require transferring of supply of some of the NONECO substations to the Amlan S/S to avoid overloading of the 50MVA TR-2,” he added.
The updated NGCP power interruption on Nov. 21 will affect EB Magalona, Victorias, and Manapla Proper, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., for load shifting to the Bacolod Victorias 69 kV line, and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the normalization of load back to the original connection.
Escalante, Toboso, Calatrava, and San Carlos residents will also experience a one-hour brownout, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., to pave the way for load shifting to the Guihulngan 69 kV line, the NONECO advisory said.
But a 12-hour brownout, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., will affect portion of Cadiz, like Cadiz Viejo, sicaba and portion of caduhaan, due to the installation of the disconnect switch of NNBP and replacement of the deteriorated structures at the 69 kV of Cadiz-Victorias. — CGC
