A fire hit nine houses at Ditching Subdivision in Barangay 5, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Monday.
The damage was estimated at P750,000.
Initial investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) showed that the fire originated from the house of a certain Reynaldo, which houses a vulcanizing shop.
Of the nine houses affected, eight were destroyed while the other one was partially damaged.
Some 13 families were temporarily displaced.
BFP investigation further showed that the fire spread quickly as the house where the fire started was made of mixed wood and concrete.
Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, who visited the fire scene and the affected families, assured them of assistance from the city government. | GB
