8 drug suspects yield P1.5M shabu

More than P1.5 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated by the police in a series of buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental and highly urbanized Bacolod City on Nov. 13 and 14.

The biggest haul was seized by the police in Kabankalan City, with a volume of about 220 grams from five arrested drug suspects.

The confiscated shabu has a market value of P1.489 million, according to the police.

In Hacienda Bacsay, Barangay Robles, La Castellana, the operation led to the arrest of a 49-year-old driver, who yielded about 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at P68,000.

The two buy-bust operations in Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla, and Barangay 1 Poblacion, Hinigaran, led to the apprehension of a Small Town Lottery bet solicitor and a 27-year-old man, with five grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000. | GB
