Eight punong barangays of Bacolod City, including Liga ng mga Barangay president Lady Gless Gonzales – Pallen, simultaneously received unordered food delivery Monday night.
Pallen said a food delivery rider arrived at her home around 8 p.m. to drop an unpaid bucket of chicken and pizza. The rider showed her the receipt and the online order placed under her name.
Although she did not order the food, Pallen said she paid the delivery out of consideration for the rider.
The next day, seven other punong barangays told her that the same thing happened to them, but instead of a bucket of chicken, they received an unpaid pizza delivery.
The victims of the food delivery prank were barangay captains Rosenie Distrito of Singcang, Yolanda Noble of Pahanocoy, Ruben Miranda of Brgy. 35, Rodney Carmona of Sum-ag, Johna Magalona of Brgy. 8, Lea Palma of Punta Taytay, Glo Ann Tambasen of Montevista and Angelito Abaring of Barangay Bata.
Pallen said four of them paid and received the food, in consideration for the rider, while the other four barangay captains refused the delivery and told the rider that he had the wrong address.
To verify the identity of the person who ordered the food, Pallen said she tried to call the number that was given by the rider but nobody answered the call.
The barangay captains reported the incident to the food delivery provider and asked for an investigation as they want to know the identity of the person behind the prank. – MML
