Seven local governments units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental are eligible to grant the 2022 performance-based bonus (PBB) to its officials and employees this year.
However, the provincial government workers cannot receive the same yet.
“We are not qualified,” Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said.
Diaz said one of the criteria in giving PBB is being a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) passer.
In the 2023 evaluation, based on the 2022 performance, the provincial government of Negros Occidental is already qualified, he said.
By next year, the PBB may be released, Diaz said.
The PBB is equivalent to 60 percent of the basic salary of a local government employee.
Diaz said the awarding rites for the SGLG passers will be on Dec. 14 in Manila.
In a notice issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, eligible for the granting of 2022 PBB to LGU officials and employees are the cities of Bago, Himamaylan, Sagay, San Carlos, Silay, Talisay and Hinoba-an town.
The DILG notice said the LGUs “were able to satisfy the conditions stated in Section 3.0 of DILG-DBM Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-01 or the Guidelines on the Grant of the Performance-Based Bonus for Officials and Employees of Local Government Units for Fiscal Year 2022 as validated by the DILG, Anti-Red Tape Authority, Civil Service Commission and Commission on Audit.”
The PBB is a top-up bonus that is given to employees based on their performance and contributions to the accomplishment of their Department’s overall targets and commitments.
To be eligible for PBB, each agency will need to meet criteria for performance results, process results, financial results, and citizen/client satisfaction results.
“The agency must also attain a total score of at least 70 points, and achieve at least a rating of 4 for at least three of the four dimensions of accountability based on the PBB scoring system,” a memorandum circular from the DBM said. | GB
