Sixty-four registration application protests from 11 barangays of Bacolod City were withdrawn during the Election Registration Board hearing Monday and Tuesday at the office of the Bacolod Commission on Elections.
Bacolod election officer, Atty. Kathrina Trinio-Caña, said this means that only 35 protested registration applications will be decided on by the ERB within this week.
Caña said the 35 registrants were given the chance to submit additional proofs of residency.
On Friday, Comelec Bacolod received protests against 99 registrants, including 29 in Barangay Mandalagan, Tangub – 19, Bata – 11, Singcang – 9, Mansilingan – 7, Alijis – 6, Brgy. 32 – 5, Sum-ag – 4, Brgy. 30 – 3, Brgy. 28 – 3, and Barangay Pahanocoy – 1. — MML
