A job fair will be held at SM City Bacolod, initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment Region 6, in line with the 124th Independence Day celebration on June 12.
The Kalayaan Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) jobs and business fairs at the mall have about 6,079 job vacancies from 43 employers as of June 8, DOLE 6 regional director, Atty. Sixto Rodriguez Jr., said.
He added that as per the Negros Occidental Field Office, 37 of these companies offer 4,912 local vacancies while six firms offer about 1,167 job opportunities abroad.
“We have facilitated job opportunities for fresh graduates, skilled workers, professionals and license holders,” Rodriguez said, adding that among the vacancies are in the service sector, wholesale and retail, business process outsourcing, logistics, transportation and courier services, in malls and pharmacies, as well as jobs for welders, mechanics, and spray painters.
The job fair is open even for undergraduates, since the DOLE seeks to promote equal employment opportunity.
For overseas employment, there are vacancies for heavy equipment operators, bar tenders, machine operators, and beauty technicians, among others.
“Currently, we have more than 1,800 online applicants and we are expecting more as we are still accepting online applications,” DOLE RO No. 6-Negros Occidental Field Office head Mary Agnes Capigon said in a statement, adding that jobseekers may apply online through https://tinyurl.com/2022KalayaanJobFair.
The DOLE said that, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, the TNK Jobs and Business Fairs will also feature a skills demonstration on bamboo weaving to encourage and promote entrepreneurships for those who are inclined to engage in business.
A package of livelihood assistance will also be distributed to qualified beneficiaries during the program to promote livelihood among the vulnerable sector, which is another component of the TNK.
The whole day activity will likewise highlight the World Day Against Child Labor celebration with the PNP Regional Advocacy Band, the DOLE said.
