Marijuana plants uprooted in Murcia

Policemen on Wednesday, March 22, discovered and uprooted marijuana plants in Purok Catugasan, Brgy. Minoya, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The joint operation of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Murcia police also led to the arrest of a suspected marijuana cultivator they identified as Khieno Rubaton, 34, of the place.

Policemen uprooted 14 marijuana plants and seized a nylon sack containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, estimated at 125 grams, with a market value of P6,250, as well as farm equipment.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Murcia Police Station, pending the filing of charges against him for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /GB
