Six business establishments were shut down Aug. 29 by the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), in coordination with the City Legal Office (CLO), for operating without business permits in Bacolod City.
Those closed were part of a larger initiative targeting 43 establishments recommended for closure.
The establishments ordered closed include a department store, a pastry shop, a salon, a dressed chicken plant, and a boarding house located in barangays 31, 17, 15, and 13.

BPLO head Stela Rose Rayos said the firms were found violating Section 65, Article 20 of City Ordinance No. 565, or the Revised Revenue Code of Bacolod. She noted that notices were already issued prior to the closure order.
“Upon issuance of the second Notice of Violation and Closure, firms must voluntarily suspend operation and comply with the requirements within 15 days, pending the issuance of the Mayor’s Permit,” Rayos explained in a city press release Aug. 30.
Owners and representatives were sternly warned against resuming operations without proper permits, or they may face additional sanctions.
The BPLO and CLO teams are set to continue the enforcement of closure orders this week. ||
