Five suspects were arrested in separate operations for engaging in peddling of illegal drugs and possession of unlicensed firearms on Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to reports of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
Alias “Timber”, 48, was apprehended during a buy-bust at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City.
He yielded about 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P374,000 and P500 in marked money.
A similar operation at Sitio Dacutan Dacu in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City led to the arrest of alias “Ryan” and alias “Red” and the recovery of about nine grams of suspected shabu worth P61,200 and P3,100 in marked money.
A tricycle driver was also arrested by the police at Beth Resto Bar in Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia for violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban.
The apprehension of alias “Nonoy”, 38, yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition.
The raid at the residence of alias “Buyong”, 60, in Barangay Tuyom, Cauayan by virtue of a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 61 in Kabankalan City led to the recovery of a homemade caliber .22 revolver with ammunition. | GB
