The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office will start on Sept. 9 the 45-day experimental parking along appropriate roadside spaces along the entire stretch of Lacson Street, as per Resolution 12 of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Council (BTAC).

The resolution, made public Sept. 6 by the Bacolod Information Office, was reportedly in response to the request of the business sector, and aims to “find a balance between maintaining smooth traffic flow at Lacson Street and providing the customers of business owners the opportunity to park near their establishments.”

Approved by City Legal Officer Carlos Romeo Ting, the resolution specifies that the trial parking will be from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday; and from 7 p.m. of Friday running through the entire weekend, and terminating at 5 a.m. every Monday.

Parking, however, is still strictly prohibited on bridges, driveways, flyovers, fronting fire hydrants, pedestrian lanes, and on loading and unloading zones allotted for public utility jeepneys.

There is also no parking within 15 meters from the corners of major intersections, like Banago Road, Ramos Street, North Capitol Road, South Capitol Road, Burgos Street, Galo Street, Rizal Street, Cuadra Street, Gonzaga Street, Luzuriaga Street, San Sebastian Street, Rosario Street, Hernaez Street, Lizares Street, Roxas Street, and at Alijis-Mansilingan Road. | CGC
