40 fugitives arrested

A total of 40 persons, who have pending arrest warrants, were arrested in week-long operations of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office.

Among them, six were categorized as most wanted persons while 34 others as wanted persons, a report of the Police Regional Office-6 said.

Also, 49 persons were arrested by the Capiz, Iloilo, Aklan Antique, Guimaras Police Provincial Offices, Iloilo City Police Office, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group from June 1 to 7.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, lauded the efforts of the tracker teams in their campaign against wanted persons.

“This is a manifestation that no wanted person can hide for life. Time will come that they will be reached by the long arm of the law,” he said. | GB
