A day before the start of the election period, the Philippine National Police reshuffled four provincial police directors in Western Visayas, and 10 chiefs of police (CoPs) in Negros Occidental.

P/Col. Romy Palgue was relieved as provincial police director of Negros Occidental effective Jan. 8, as confirmed yesterday by P/Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6.

The election period took effect Jan. 9.

Palgue was replaced by P/Col. Leo Pamittan, who used to be the officer-in-charge of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, Solis said.

P/Col. Adrian Acollador also took over the command of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office from P/Col. Gilbert Gorero.

Solis reported that P/Col. Richard Baluis was designated officer-in-charge of the Guimaras PPO, and P/Col. Alexander Mariano as OIC of the Antique PPO.

He added that the simultaneous turnover of command ceremonies will be held Jan. 10 at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, and will be presided over by P/Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, regional police director of Western Visayas.

The relief order for the four provincial police directors is part of the ongoing reshuffling at PRO6, as they already served more than a year in their respective posts, and is also in line with the May 9 elections.

Also affected by the reshuffling were 10 police chiefs in Negros Occidental.

P/Lt. Col. Jesus Mesahon Jr. took over the command of the San Carlos City Police Station (CPS) from P/Lt. Col. Arthur Baybayan, while P/Lt. Col. Reynante Jomocan is the new OIC of the Himamaylan CPS, effective Jan. 8.

P/Lt Col. Joseph Fajardo assumed command of the Victorias CPS from P/Lt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz, while P/Lt. Col. Lowell Garinganao took over the command of the La Carlota CPS.

P/Lt. Col. Jonel Guadalope, outgoing La Carlota City police chief, replaced P/Lt. Albert Sy as Sagay City police OIC, while P/Lt. Col. Rocky Desear, former Cadiz City police chief, was transferred to Escalante City as city police OIC.

P/Lt. Col. Gil John Despi, former Escalante City police chief, is the new Cadiz City police OIC.

P/Maj. Roberto Indiape Jr. is the new OIC of the Cauayan Police Station, replacing P/Lt. Col. Norberto Barniso.

Indiape was replaced by P/Maj. Joevito Bose as OIC of the Calatrava PS.

P/Capt. Ryan Villasario took over the command of the Hinigaran PS from P/Maj. Jake Barila.

Both Corpuz and Baybayan will be assigned at the Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit, while Sy is the new Provincial Human Rights Affairs Office chief, and Vargas is the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management chief.

Barila, on the other hand, is the new chief of the Provincial Learning Doctrine and Development Section of NOCPPO, provincial police deputy spokesperson, P/Lt. Abegael Donasco, said. | GB
