4 arrested suspects, yield guns, shabu

Four individuals were arrested while three firearms and P737,800 in suspected shabu were seized in a series of buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental on March 29 and 30.

The arrest of a certain “Jason” on Sunday in Purok San Roque 2, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City led to the recovery of about 56 grams of suspected shabu valued at P380,800.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office City Drug Enforcement Unit.

A joint operation of the local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency resulted in the apprehension of a certain “Crisanto” at Purok Minoro, Barangay Amayco in Murcia on Saturday.

His arrest yielded 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, marked money of P500, and a caliber 9mm revolver with five ammunition.

The implementation of a search warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act led to the arrest of a 50-year-old farmer at Purok Santan in Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City.

Recovered were a Rock Island Armory caliber .45 pistol with three magazines containing 21 ammunition, and a caliber .22 revolver with five ammunition.

In Cadiz City, a 48-year-old businesswoman was arrested in Barangay Cadiz Viejo on Saturday, leading to the seizure of about 2.5 grams of suspected shabu valued at P17,000 and P500 in marked money.

All the arrested suspects are now locked up in the police custodial facilities in the cities of Bacolod, Cadiz and Kabankalan, and in Murcia town. | GB
