A fire substation, police substation, and a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) command center will rise in a 1,986-square-meter parcel of land donated by Rockwell Land Corp. to the city government of Bacolod, along Buri Road in Barangay Mandalagan.

The property is within the new Rockwell development in the area, the city said in a press release May 8.

The project, initiated by Mayor Alfredo Benitez, has a P10 million funding support from Senator Francis Tolentino, who allocated the budget in 2024.

The Department of Public Works and Highways has been tasked to lead the construction.

The City Engineer’s Office, meanwhile, is working closely with the DPWH to ensure that the facility’s design complements the overall masterplan and aesthetics of the development.

Necessary documentation is being processed to formalize the land donation and allow construction work to officially begin.

A coordination meeting on the project was also held recently, and attended by CEO head, Engr. Loben Ceballos, Engr. Leah Jamero of the DPWH Bacolod District Office, P/Col. Joeresty Coronica – Bacolod City Police Office director, Bureau of Fire Protection Bacolod fire marshal, F/Senior Insp. Jenny Mae Masip, and Rockwell executives Louie Sacdalan, Danie Timson, Mars Lopez, and Albert Loberes, among others. ||
