Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson returned to the town of Ilog Friday, to distribute more financial assistance to 2,944 families affected by Typhoon Odette.

Lacson led the distribution of P14.7-million financial assistance from the National Housing Authority at the Ilog Municipal Gym and Dancalan Covered Court. Similar distribution of financial assistance was held at Canlamay Covered Court, also in Ilog.

The financial assistance from NHA is in addition to the P12.7 million worth of house construction materials and food packs given to the typhoon victims by the provincial government on Feb. 2.

Each typhoon-affected family received P5,000 financial assistance.

Ilog Mayor Paul Alvarez, who along with Board Member Jeffrey Tubola assisted in the distribution of NHA financial assistance, thanked the provincial government for the support extended to residents of Ilog.

Lacson said he is scheduled to distribute the NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program to typhoon-affected families in Cauayan, Sipalay, and Isabela next week.

“We will distribute all the P91 million NHA financial assistance,” the governor said.

Early this week, Lacson also distributed P4.95 million to 990 typhoon-affected families in the cities of Cadiz and Victorias, as well as in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

While in Ilog, the governor administered the oath of office of newly-elected municipal councilors Ron Cabral, Mark John Vargas, Bobby Talde, Benigno Gequillana Jr., Rene Bandolos, Joemarie Eres, Erlinito Castillo, and Jerry Lopez. The event was witnessed by Mayor Alvarez./GB
