Twenty-five mayors of the towns and cities of Negros Occidental are expected to join the UniTeam grand rally of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, at the Bredco reclamation area in Bacolod City on Feb. 23.
Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said he will reveal during the rally the mayors who have joined their group, and told them to come into the open and declare their choice.
He said the 3rd, 4th, and 5th districts are “sure solid forces” for the UniTeam, and they are waiting for mayors from the 1st and 6th districts to also jump on the bandwagon.
Ferrer admitted that he has been bashed on social media after he declared his full support to the UniTeam, but he told his bashers to respect the choices of others.
He said he is confident that they can gather up to 80,000 people at the Bredco reclamation area for the grand rally of the UniTeam, the first presidential and vice presidential tandem to visit Bacolod and Negros Occidental since the start of the campaign for national candidates Feb. 8.
Only the national candidates will be on stage during the rally, Ferrer said, adding that Marcos is expected to lead a caravan at 3:30 p.m. for the north group, starting in Silay City.
Hundreds of vehicles coming from the south will also converge at the reclamation area, for the rally set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. | MML
