Bacolod City’s inflation rate for January 2023 increased to 12.1 percent from 9.7 percent in December 2022, while Negros Occidental logged a slight dip at 12.2 percent compared to 12.3 percent in December, the provincial Philippine Statistics Authority said.

2 Capitol dep’t heads retiring

Two department heads of the provincial government of Negros Occidental will retire from government service this year.
Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said that Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Merle Garcia will retire Feb. 24, while Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, is retiring from government service in June.
