Two women, who were arrested for presenting fake negative RT-PCR results, tested positive for COVID-19, Provincial Incident Management Team head Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian said today, Jan. 21.

Caelian said the two women travelled from Manila and arrived at the Bredco Port in Bacolod City Jan. 20 on board a passenger ship. They are now on quarantine due to the virus infection.

The tampered negative RT-PCR test result was discovered after the documents underwent scanning, he added.

Two women, who were arrested for presenting fake negative RT-PCR results, tested positive for COVID-19, Provincial Incident Management Team head Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian said today, Jan. 21.

Caelian said the documents were photoshopped, or digitally altered.

He added that he already referred the case to the Provincial Legal Office for the filing of appropriate charges against the two women.

Inbound travelers from Alert Level 3 areas, including Manila and Western Visayas, are required to secure negative RT-PCR result 72 hours prior to their arrival, before the approval of their S-PaSS application.

If the validity of the negative RT-PCR result lapsed after 72 hours, Caelian said that travelers may avail of the free swab testing upon arrival at the Bacolod-Silay Airport, and will be placed in a quarantine facility while the result is being awaited. If the passenger tested negative, he or she will be released.

Early this week, three persons were arrested in Bacolod City for printing and selling fake vaccination cards and certificates. | GB
