Two minors died in separate accidental shooting and drowning incidents in Negros Occidental on Thursday, March 19.
Initial police investigation showed that a three-year-old victim and his two-year old cousin found a firearm inside a room of their residence at Purok Mangga in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto.
While playing, the two-year-old accidentally fired the gun, hitting his three-year-old playmate in the chest.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos Doctors’ Hospital in San Carlos City.
Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy drowned at Maragandang River in Purok Bagasohan, Barangay Don Jorge L. Araneta in Bago City.
According to the police, the victim and his classmates went swimming and when he went to a deeper portion of the river, he was carried by a strong current.
The boy was declared dead on arrival at the Bago City District Hospital. | GB
