The series of buy-bust operations of the police in Negros Occidental on April 8 and 9, led to the arrest of two job order employees of Manapla and Cadiz City, and 14 other drug suspects, as well as the recovery of more than P135,000 worth of illegal drugs.
About 1.3 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P8,840, and P500 in marked money were recovered by the police from a 48-year-old Job Order employee of Cadiz city government, during his arrest April 9 in Purok Magkaisa, Brgy. Zone 3 in Cadiz City.
Meanwhile, the apprehension of another JO worker from Manapla municipal government, and his companion, a vendor, at the town public market in Brgy. 2 Poblacion, also yielded nine sachets of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.
An estimated eight grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P54,400, were also recovered by the police from a suspect during another buy-bust operation April 8 in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.
On the other hand, the apprehension of a 35-year-old laborer Wednesday, April 9, at Sitio Bucroz Dacu in Brgy. Ayungon, La Carlota City, led to the seizure of about three grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P20,400.
Another buy-bust operation in Brgy. 1, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of three more drug suspects and the recovery of 1.42 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P9,656.
Eight more drug suspects were accounted for by the police, following their separate arrests in Murcia, Ilog, Sagay City, Calatrava, Binalbagan, Hinigaran and Himamaylan City, that led to the seizure of about eight grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P45,000. | GB
