Two drug suspects managed to escape arrest during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Sept. 9, and left behind around 100 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P680,000.
The joint operation, led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Special Enforcement Team and the Kabankalan City Component Police Station, targeted the suspects in a sting that quickly turned into a manhunt after the latter sensed the presence of law enforcers and fled the scene.
Authorities recovered 20 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
Operatives also impounded a white Toyota Fortuner, along with its official registration documents, bank deposit slips, a TIN identification card, and a coin purse left at the scene.
The PDEA said they are conducting follow-up investigations to track down and apprehend the suspects, who will be charged in absentia for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | TMD
