Two children drowned during family get-togethers along the rivers in Don Salvador Benedicto and E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental over the weekend.
In Don Salvador Benedicto, a five-year-old girl was found lifeless after a search operation on April 4 at Bago River in Purok Mahogany, Barangay Bunga.
Based on initial police investigation, the minor and other members of her family were having a swim at the river.
Her father later noticed that she was nowhere to be found.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.
In E.B. Magalona, the body of a seven-year-old boy was floating in Malogo River in Barangay Nanca on Sunday, April 5.
The victim came with his family for a recreational activity and he was left on his own.
He was brought to a hospital in Silay City, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician. | GB
