Two men, believed to be involved in a series of robbery incidents in Bacolod City, were shot dead by riding-in-tandem assailants along Araneta Street in Barangay 15 on Friday.

PMaj. Elmer Bonilla, commander of Police Station 1, identified the fatalities as Nobert Aguda and Kenneth Jamandre, residents of Barangays 35 and 16, of Bacolod City, respectively.

Initial investigation showed the two were walking when a motorcycle stopped before them, and the back rider fired at them several times.

The victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, including fatal injuries in the head, and died on the spot, Bonilla said.

Police recovered from the scene of the incident eight empty shells and three slugs of caliber .45 pistol.

While probers are still determining the motive, Bonilla said the two victims were linked to the series of “akyat bahay” incidents in the city.

He said they are now coordinating with owners of commercial establishments located along the scene of the incident to secure close circuit television (CCTV) footages, which may help in their investigation, to identify the two assailants. | GB
