More than a thousand applicants have registered in the satellite registrations initiated by the Commission on Elections Bacolod in barangays Pahanocoy and Banago in the past two Saturdays.
Comelec Bacolod records show that there were 533 applicants during the Feb. 24 list-up in Banago, and 554 in the first satellite registration at the Pahanocoy covered court Feb. 17.
The next barangay registration will be on March 1 at the Mandalagan Barangay Hall, and then on March 2 at the Alijis barangay gymnasium; March 9, Punta Taytay barangay hall; March 15, Bata barangay gymnasium in Purok Marapara; March 16, Mansilingan barangay gymnasium; March 22, Felisa gymnasium;
March 23, Gonzaga gymnasium for Barangay Taculing residents; April 6, Villamonte barangay gymnasium; April 13, J.R Torres Elementary School covered court in Barangay Singcang-Airport; and at Tangub barangay gymnasium in Ramylu Drive on April 20, as per Comelec Bacolod schedule.
Voting age residents in all 61 barangays of Bacolod may file their application for registration, transfer, reactivation, and correction of entry on these dates, the Comelec Bacolod said in an earlier advisory.
For registration, transfer, reactivation, or correction of entry, residents 21 years old and above should bring a valid government issued card and the address should show the barangay where he or she intends to register, while applicants below 21 years old should also bring a birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Those who want to correct the spelling of their name in the voter’s list or date of birth must bring a copy of their PSA birth certificate, while for change of marital status, a PSA marriage contract is required.
The Comelec said it is targeting about 200,000 additional voters for next year’s midterm elections. Registration will end on Sept. 30. | CGC
