Despite the temporary suspension of limited face to face classes after Bacolod City and Negros Occidental have been placed on Alert Level 3 until Jan. 31, the scheduled inspection and evaluation of schools that applied for inclusion in in-person learning will push through next week.
Department of Education Negros Occidental Division spokesperson, Ian Arnaez, said the local evaluation team will start visiting the 16 schools under their division that want to be included in the limited face to face classes.
These schools are the Valladolid National High School-Ayungon Annex, Cansilayan Farm School, Antipolo National High School, Pahilanga National High School, EMEMHS-Ubay Extension, La Castellana Elementary School, Negros Occidental-NAISHI, Bungahin Elementary School, Tabao National High School-Lacaron Extension, Tabao National High School, Valladolid National High School-Junior High School program, Isabela National High School, Canroma Elementary School, Aguinaldo Elementary School, Enriqueta Montilla de Esteban High School, and the Bilbao Uybico National High School.
Arnaez said this is one way to prepare the schools in case the expanded in-person learning will be approved by the next quarter of the year, and so that schools approved for face to face classes can start immediately once Negros Occidental goes back to Alert Level 2. In-person classes are allowed under Alert Level 2 and 1.
The two pilot schools of the division for face to face classes, the Valladolid National High School-Senior High School program and the Aguntilan Elementary School in Isabela, were having a smooth conduct of classes for selected subjects, when the province was under Alert Level 2.
Arnaez said the two schools went back to distance and modular learning.
He added that the Negros Occidental Schools Division Office covers all municipalities and one city in the province that have not established their own schools division yet.
Most of the component cities have separate schools divisions, and these schools that want in-person classes submit their applications directly to the DepEd Regional Office 6.| MML
