The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said it will shut down its Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV line tomorrow, Nov. 18, starting at 6 a.m., to replace wood poles.

The scheduled power interruption will affect the Sum-ag and Lag-asan substations of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative, and the electric coop shall take advantage of the downtime by implementing simultaneous maintenance works.

These include ride-on preventive maintenance of Ceneco’s 10MVA Sum-ag and 10MVA Hilangban substations, correction of hot spot, replacement of rotten primary and secondary poles, and tree-clearing activities, acting general manager, Atty. Arnel Lapore, said in an advisory.

Affected areas include those serviced by SF1 and SF2 feeders, and of HF1, HF2, HF3, and HF4.

Maintenance activities will also be conducted on Nov. 19, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, specifically affecting areas serviced by the Talisay Feeder 3, Lapore said, adding this will ensure the stability of distribution lines to avoid further serious damage that could result to major interruptions.

Electricity consumers are advised to turn off electrical switch/es during outage for safety reasons. “When electricity supply resumes, please provide allowance of about 10-15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.”||
