The Central Negros Electric Cooperative Friday reminded its consumers, under the Asdes-Gonzaga and Alijis feeders, of a 12-hour power interruption, starting at 6 a.m., on Jan. 13 and 14, respectively.
Ceneco acting general manager, Atty. Arnel Lapore, said in an advisory that the outage this Saturday, to affect the Asdes-Gonzaga feeders 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (AGF1 to 6), will pave the way for preventive maintenance and integrity testing of the 30MVA power transformer and related accessories; degassing of the 30MVA power transformer, correction of hotspot and secondary cable re-insulation; replacement of rotten primary poles; and tree-clearing activities.
Similar maintenance activities will also be conducted on Sunday, starting at 6 a.m., but will cover Alijis feeders 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (AF1 to 7).
“This is to ensure the stability of distribution lines to avoid further serious damages that will result in major interruptions,” Lapore said.
He advised electricity consumers to turn off electrical switch/es during the outage for safety reasons. “When electricity supply resumes, please provide allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.”
The Bacolod City Water District-PrimeWater, meanwhile, urged its consumers to store water as early as possible since the operations of several wells will be affected by the scheduled power interruption of Ceneco.
In its advisory, Baciwa-PrimeWater said the operations of wells 1 (Mabini), 2 (CyberCenter), and 50 (Sta. Lucia) will be affected by the 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. brownout this Saturday, which means that “interrupted water supply and not clear water” will be experienced by residents in barangays 26-33, Mabini, Libertad area, Cyber Center, Henares Street, Alunan, Yulo, Sta. Lucia, St. Francis, and Puentebella.
Nineteen wells, meanwhile, will have interrupted operations on Sunday, also due to the power outage, which will affect more than 50 areas in Bacolod, the advisory added. | CGC
