The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division sent 102 Negros-based Army soldiers to Rizal in Palawan, to participate in the sixth iteration of the annual Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Exercise (AJEX DAGIT-PA).

The AJEX DAGIT-PA, which started Monday and will end on Nov. 18, aims to strengthen the military’s territorial defense capabilities.

In a statement, the 3ID said the 102 Army soldiers are members of the 15th Infantry Battalion assigned in southern Negros, who recently graduated from three months of Battalion of Excellence training at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.

The 47th Infantry Battalion is presently occupying the areas vacated by the 15IB in southern Negros.

All participating military personnel have also taken part in joint interoperability events and command post exercises, like a cyber-defense exercise in Camp Aguinaldo, air detection and interception viewed from Pasay City, live fire exercise and urban operations in Capiz, maritime operations in Panay, and amphibious operations with special operations in Antique.

In last year’s AJEX DAGIT-PA, about 1,492 active personnel and 92 reservists from all major services of the Armed Forces of the Philippines participated in the joint military exercises./GB
