The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said that the staging of the 45th MassKara Festival is “generally peaceful and successful” as indicated in the zero crime incident in all the festival sites throughout the 17-day festivities.
PCol. Joeresty Coronica, director of BCPO, said that they were able to effectively deter criminal activities, ensuring a safe environment for both residents and tourists, through a collaborative planning and close coordination with the city government and the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation.
Enhanced police visibility, efficient crowd management and firm implementation of the festival rules and regulations were also enforced, he added.
Police personnel from Panay Island and other force multipliers beefed up the BCPO security forces in maintaining peace and order.
Also, the series of anti-drug operations resulted in the confiscation of 4.8 kilos of suspected shabu, with a market valueof P33.097 million, from 55 arrested drug personalities on Oct. 1 to 27.
