Negros Occidental 5th District Rep. Emilio Bernardino Yulo III has the full support of Lakas-CMD, headed by House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, in his reelection bid, Abang Lingkod Partylist Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano said April 22.
The announcement of Paduano was joined by Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., who is the secretary-general of the United Negros Alliance.
This came in the wake of the declaration of support of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Benitez for the congressional bid of Board Member Anthony Dennis Occeño, provincial chairman for Negros Occidental of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).
Benitez is a member of PFP. Both Lacson and Benitez are also members of the local political group Love Negros.
Paduano said that Yulo is the congressional candidate of Lakas-CMD in the 5th District.
“I’m sure Lakas will support Cong. Dino,” Escalante said.
The reelection bid of Yulo is also supported by Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo, Moises Padilla Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, and La Castellana Mayor Rhummyla Nicor-Mangilimutan. | GB
