A 58-year-old woman died while seven others, including four police officers, were injured in a vehicular accident in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental on Saturday.
The fatality was identified by the police as Daisy De los Santos, 58.
Injured were PCpl. Patrick Panganiban, PCpl. Jane Claire Batadhay, PCpl. Hazel Motin and Patrolman Calveen Corral, all assigned at the Bacolod City Police Office, as well as their other companion April Rose Megel and two minors.
Investigation showed the victims were on their way to San Carlos City on board a Toyota Avanza that fell off a ravine along a curved portion of the national highway in Purok Tuburan, Barangay Pandanon.
All the victims were transported to the Adventist Medical Center in Bacolod City, where De los Santos was reported to have died.
All the four police personnel are now in stable condition, according to a report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The three other injured victims were also reported to be in stable condition. | GB
