Week-long anti-drug campaign yields P10.7-M in illegal drugs

The week-long campaign of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) against illegal drugs led to the arrest of 27 suspects, which yielded P10.7 million worth of shabu, a report of the Police Regional Office-6 showed.

From Oct. 15 to 21, the BCPO recovered P10.331 million in illegal drugs from 11 arrested suspects.

NOCPPO netted 16 drug suspects, whose apprehensions yielded P411,536 worth of suspected shabu.

In the whole Western Visayas, police units confiscated of 4,060 grams of suspected shabu valued at P27.613 million from 61 drug suspects, who were arrested in 47 separate operations.

Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), which recorded 22 arrests, seized illegal drugs valued at P11.832 million.

The Aklan, Antique and Iloilo Police Provincial Offices arrested 12 drug suspects and recovered P5.038 million worth of illegal drugs.

PBrig.Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, urged police operatives to conduct in-depth investigation, validate thoroughly all received information, and coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful arrests of those found engaging in the illegal activity. | GB
